Jennifer – call her Jen – is a professional communicator, freelance writer and editor, and amateur geek who enjoys inflicting new recipes and useless facts on her husband, Ryan. A self-proclaimed word nerd, Jen reads any book, article, shampoo bottle, and cereal box she can get her hands on.

And if that’s not dorky enough, she considers downing videogame bosses with her hubby to be a hot date, playing boardgames to be the pinnacle of socializing, and watching Doctor Who to be her idea of a great Saturday night (though she does occasionally see sunlight, mainly while walking her pug dog, Caddy.)

When she’s not commuting from her bed to her desk, she’s reading, writing, gaming, and referring to herself in the third-person so as to make it easier to craft a bio about herself.

I’m 35. It gets worse. And then it gets better. And then it gets worse. And then it gets a lot better. The best part? It gets better. Keep challenging yourself, and know that fear is simply a response to the unknown – once it becomes “known” it’s not so scary anymore. Simply because “here be dragons” doesn’t mean you can’t walk up to the thing and slay it with your gilded bronze sword. +5 dexterity!

Nice to meet you, Jen. My name is Mary and I live around 80 km from you. Your blog is wonderful! It’s pretty cool that you live in the city where I would really like to live in, LOL. Hope you don’t mind if I add you to my reading list. 🙂

Hi Mary, nice to meet you too! Thank you for your kind words – I’m having a lot of fun writing the blog. Red Deer is a great place to live. I can’t imagine living anywhere else. 🙂
